In the automotive industry, a tail or lamp is the lighting system used in a vehicle, essentially places on the front and back of the vehicle. The lamp is not a single product but a pair of two (left and right) connected to the forward-facing and rear part of the automobile. The lights or lamps possess different functions to be used uniquely.

The turn lights, or signal lights, are together called the tail lamp assembly. Due to the regulatory standards, the color is normally yellow that indicate the right or left turning of the vehicle. Many times, they are also used in the times of emergency. The reverse lights are also included in the tail lamp assembly to reflect whether the vehicle is backing up. The reverse lights are lit automatically when the vehicle is put on to reverse shift.
